The ranking of most livable cities announces every year by several organization like, EIU( Economist Intelligence Unit’s), Monocle’s Life Survey, Global Finance, Mercer’s Quality, Deutsche Bank Livability Survey.

EIU( Economist Intelligence Unit’s) publishes ranking of 140 cities based on several factors that includes health system, environment, education, infrastructure, stability etc. We will discuss about top 5 most livable cities in the world 2021 according to the EIU ranking.

1. Auckland, New Zealand:-

Auckland is the one of the largest metropolitan city in New Zealand. It has a approximate 16.6 lakhs population in 2017. It is the top most livable city in the world according to EIU Rankings. 48.5% Auckland people believes in christian religion. 90% of Auckland peoples are living in urban areas. It is the economical and financial hub of New Zealand.

2.  Osaka, Japan:-

Osaka is the one of the largest metropolitan city in Japan with a population of 26.9 lakhs(2015). It is considered as economical center of Japan. It is the 2nd most livable city in the world according to EIU Rankings. Osaka is a very nice and safest place to live. The central Osaka city mainly divided into two parts i.e. Kita and Minami ( North side is known as Kita and south side is known as Minami ).

Adelaide is one of the largest and populous city in Australia with a population of 13 lakhs(2016). It is the 3rd most livable city in the world according to EIU Rankings. EIU provided the highest score to Adelaide on both education and health. It is the capital city of southern Australia. Adelaide was ranked in top 10 most livable cities by EIU since 2010. Almost 75% population speaks in English language.

4. Wellington, New Zealand:-

Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand with a population of 2.1 lakh(2017). It is the 4th most livable city in the world according to EIU Rankings. Wellington got 100% score on education by EIU. As it is a country Capital, the new Zealand parliament, Supreme Court and major of the public service building are inside the city. The city’s economy focused on service based. It is chosen as a capital city of New Zealand in 1865. It was ranked as most affordable city as per cost of living. Wellington got 139th out of the 143 cities in terms of most expensive city.

5. Tokyo, Japan:-

Tokyo is the capital and populous city of Japan with a population of 1.4 crore(2021). It is the 5th most livable city in the world according to EIU Rankings. It is the financial and political center of japan. Tokyo is near the three earthquake plates, so the earthquake affects the urban area very badly. Tokyo hit by earthquake so many times and taken almost 1,42000 people’s lives. Mount Fuji is active volcano in Tokyo.
