1. Statue of Unity(182 Metres tall):-
Now it is the tallest statue in the world with a height of 182 Mtr. It is located on the Narmada River at the Gujarat State in India. The site was dedicated to activist , first deputy prime minster of India and and home minster of independent India . The statue building cost was US $422 million ( 2700 Crores in Indian Rupees).The height of 182 metres was specifically chosen to the number of seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly. The statue is built to withstand winds of up to 180 kilometres per hour and earthquakes measuring up to 6.5 on the Richter scale. Indian infrastructure company Larsen & Turbo built the statue of unity.
2. Spring Temple Buddha(128 Metres tall):-
The Spring Temple Buddha is a colossal statue depicting Vairocana Buddha located at Henan in China. It was built from the year 1997 to 2008. It is the second tallest statue in the world after the Statue of Unity. The height of the statue is 128 Mtr. The whole project estimated to cost around $55 million. It was made by 108 kg of gold, 3,300 tonnes of copper, 15,000 tonnes of steel and few amount of Bronze also. Statue is situated on 25 Mtr. lotus throne.
3. Laykyun Sekkya (115.8 metres tall):-
Laykyun Sekkya Buddha is the third tallest statue in the world with 115.8 metres height. It was located at the village of Khatakan Taung in Myanmar. It’s construction was started at 1996 and was completed on 2008. Statue’s structure reflects the sunlight on yellow and becomes golden against reflection.
4. Ushiku Daibutsu (100 Metres tall):-
Ushiku Daibutsu is the Forth tallest statue in the world with 1oo metres height. The statue situated at Ushiku, Ibaraki in Japan. It is made of Bronze and weight is 4,003 tons. Inside the statue it has 4 main building which serves as a museum . First level is dark and elevators are there beyond these floor. Second level is dedicated to scriptural studies. Third level has almost 3000 samples of Buddha statues. Forth level is through buddha’s chest , There is a flower garden and small animal park.
5. Sendai Daikannon (100 metres tall):-
Sendai Daikannon is located in Sendai, Japan with 100 Metres height. It was completed at September, 1991. At that time it was the tallest statue in the world, now it is the fifth tallest statue in the world. At the first floor many statues of Buddha and mythical king were available to visit. There is a small entry fee to go inside the statue. Japan is a country where so many buddha statues available. These statues signify the importance of Lord Buddha in Japanese Life.
